spring

Cold, yes. A touch of frost at night, yes. But, oh, the blue sky and the birds. The racket they make, mating and nesting and breeding. Cranes and geese and have you ever watched a pair of noisy magpies making a nest? Messy doesn't come close.
It's the best time.

What We Need Is Here

Geese appear high over us,
pass, and the sky closes. Abandon,
as in love or sleep, holds
them to their way, clear
in the ancient faith: what we need
is here. And we pray, not
for new earth or heaven, but to be
quiet in heart, and in eye,
clear. What we need is here.

Thank you for all of that.

Oh, wonderful! You have magpies and cranes. My Richard thought the magpies where he lived where saying, "WHAAAATTTT?" I hear the Canada Geese here. I'm studying with my window open and can hear the birds. Wore a coat when I went out to walk in the sun this morning. Thank you, Sabine.

I forgot to prove that I'm not a robot. Not sure if my previous comment went through (-:
