I wrestled with this hideous example of Putinism; was Navalny's death a lonely one, or was there some compensating sense of community? I hope to hell it was the latter though what little I know about him suggests he was fashioned from the toughest of fibres. Mocking his enemy up to very last moment. I do hope there are moments when scrofulous Vladimir has difficulty sleeping. Seeing that sardonic face between him and the pillow

I'm only surprised that it took Putin this long to kill him.
Alexei Navalny was an incredibly brave man and his wife is his equal.
A deeply committed man, who stood by his beliefs, and a family who understood that.
