Give Up Yer Aul Sins is based on the Academy Award nominated short film
by Brown Bag Films. Based on original
recordings of Dublin schoolrooms in the 1960s.
The earnest voice of that little girl living in Dublin in the 1960s is quite moving. What I'm wondering is what her story looked like in her mind. She knew it well and clearly had given it much thought in order to be able to tell it in such detail and with such feeling.
and..and what a breathtaking delight! Moselito used to play one of the Innkeepers for many years. I was delighted to hear him turn Mary and Joseph away telling them in few words that there was no room left and that they should go and look somewhere else. His sentences are still short but the topics are many.
That's fantastic.

Sweet. She barely paused to take a breath.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, we knew a few things in the 1960s, didn't we?
