Two weeks ago I watched the agonisingly slow monoclonal antibody infusion dripping into my vein, my blood pressure dropping so low I could not keep my body upright.

This morning I stood in the basement gym of the local protestant church, in a group of mostly elderly Muslim women, getting ready for an hour of Qi Gong. Lots of deep breathing, confusion, sweating and plenty of laughter.

Last night, a short downpour after another week of record temperatures, and autumn is in the air.

  1. Beautiful imagery. Elderly Muslim women and you practicing Qi Gong. Fertile garden. Healing and laughter. I think of you often and send love. I did watch the video about DNA before and watched it again through your link. It has been astounding to me to find out how many cousins I have, from all races. Fascinating that R is entirely Irish with the tiniest bit of Scottish. Was just talking with a friend whose DNA showed her to be Swedish and Irish only. Her eyes are exactly the color of mine -- closer to green than blue. Took an autumn walk in the woods yesterday with my friend who is waiting for a kidney transplant. He asked if I would stay with him in Seattle after the surgery, during the times when his son is not available. Of course, I said, "Yes." My hope is that I can be there for him in the spirit that R is being there for you.

  2. So glad there is laughter, there is light. Let in and give it out as much as you can. I am in awe of you.

  3. What a difference a couple of weeks can make. I'm so glad to hear you are feeling well enough for Qi Gong. I'm also happy to hear about Qi Gong.

  5. Glad that you are so much better that you can laugh, sweat, and practice Qi Gong. With Autumn coming (slowly to FL!) it'll be bearable again to do it each evening out on the patio in the dark!
