After the first cool night, and with a gentle breeze after breakfast, we walk, in fact, crawl through the garden and find hidden pumpkins and strange fruit, wasps buzzing and generally, the place is a mess.

nature at its best. my gardening style is 'barely restrained chaos'.

This is so beautiful, Sabine. It is raining here. Fierce grace. I've just finished watching a DVD of a movie from 2010 called "Beginners" and am recommending it. Someone I knew during my freshman year of college in 1967 played a small part in the movie. That is the only reason I knew of the movie. I had Googled his name and, several webpages later, discovered that he had a part in "Beginners." The public library had a copy. It never rained once during that movie. There were flowers. It took place in Los Angeles in 2003. During my childhood, there was a fire in Los Angeles that burned down many of the houses in my alcoholic uncle's neighborhood, but the fire jumped over his house. Los Angeles has lived with seasonal fires for as long as I can remember. I'm going to watch the movie again today with the subtitles. Although the movie is in English, there are a few parts in French. You and R together and your garden are dear to me. Sometimes we crawl through the beauty. Beginners.

You got a lot of grapes, even if some of them have been nibbled by the wasps. The pumpkins (squashes?) look good too! Love the leaf colors and textures.
