Él tocaba la batería. La bateria. Drums. He played the drums.
Coincidentally, my Spanish lessons this past week introduced a new word and numerous sentences about drums and drummers.
Charlie tocaba la batería.

Someone on YouTube called him the best timekeeper on earth. Yep. For so many songs that moved me then and move me now. Yep. And I have always found Charlie's expressive face to be deeply reassuring, deeply grounding.
Oh, Sabine! I love, love, love that. You know, they wrote that song after Keith and an American named Gram Parsons became very, very good friends. Gram wrote beautiful songs in that same vein and he was, at the very least, an inspiration for it. You probably already knew that. I love watching their faces as they listen to what they achieved in the studio. I would say they are well-pleased and they should be. Charlie could do it all, couldn't he? He seemed like such a private person, even using his eyelids to protect his privacy from the camera. Beautiful eyes. Beautiful man.
Very cool post. Thanks!
