Illness is the night side of life, a more onerous citizenship. Everyone who is born holds dual citizenship, in the kingdom of the well and in the kingdom of the sick. Although we all prefer to use the good passport, sooner or later each of us is obliged, at least for a spell, to identify ourselves as citizens of that other place.

Yes. It is true. And so many of us are simply shocked when we enter that Kingdom of the Sick. I have been there truly once and I will never forget it and I know it waits for me again.
Yes, the doorway to that kingdom awaits each one of us. We peek in every now and then, but know that sooner or later we will cross the threshold with fervent hopes to find our way back. Thinking of you.
